Hi, I'm so glad that you're here for our very first episode of Lunar Love Notes. Now if you've listened to the Moon Musings podcast in the past, not much has changing. The vibe is the same. And we will have some other fun episodes in between the new and full Moons, but you can still rely on this space as your source for those New and Full Moon breakdowns that will provide all the energetic info that you need to move through these portals with confidence and empowerment. So today we're talking about the New Moon in Cancer. The New Moon in Cancer takes place early in the morning on June 25th, 2025. New Moons are always a new beginning. We have this blank slate. The Moon, we can't see the Moon. It has disappeared from sight, and in the days following the New Moon, it will be reborn and it will slowly and steadily grow to fullness over the next two weeks. But at this point, at the New Moon, we have nothing. We can fill this space with whatever is most aligned for us at this time. The New Moon in Cancer is always associated with an emotional fresh start. It could have something to do with safety and security. Cancer is the first water sign in the Zodiac, and so this is about our emotional foundation, our first experiences with emotions. This a lot of times has something to do with how we were taught to process emotions as children. What were our emotional role models, and then how does that childhood experience with emotion inform how we show up in our emotional selves today? And is that aligned? Do we want to continue choosing that? Or perhaps with this New Moon, we want to change the tone and maybe handle things a little bit differently. With Cancer, it's not only who were our emotional role models, but also how do we want to show up as emotional role models? You know, Cancer is associated with motherhood and so definitely the moms who are listening to this will hear “emotional role model” and immediately know that that is a role that they play. But even those who are not moms, who are not parents, who don't have younger people close in their lives can still show up in our relationships with our peers, in our relationships even with our parents, and set the tone for how to handle conflict, how to move through grief, how to process these big emotions in a way that fosters connection rather than disconnection. That fosters safety, that makes sure that everyone feels held. One of the ways that Cancer energy can show up for us that is not the truest quality of Cancer, but a way that it shows up maybe a little bit negatively can be this “us versus them” dynamic, where Cancer is fiercely protective of the close inner circle, but rejects everyone who is not in that close inner circle. And maybe we are choosing to soften that boundary a little bit and how can we, you know, while still protecting ourselves, keeping ourselves safe (especially with Cancer, we're never sacrificing our own safety, our own security), but how can we soften the boundary a little bit and extend that nurturing energy that we have, a little bit further out? And extend that powerful loving energy that this world most certainly needs more of just a little bit farther than perhaps we're comfortable with. And that kind of brings us right into the first aspect that I want to discuss in this chart. And that is Jupiter is conjunct the New Moon, which is really, really beautiful. So in a New Moon, the Sun and Moon are conjunct. I forgot to say that at the beginning. So, the Sun and Moon, they're in the same place in the sky. That's why we can't see the Moon because the Sun overpowers it. And Jupiter is also present right there with the Sun and the Moon during this Full (should have said New) Moon. This is really beautiful. If you watched my Cancer Season Workshop, I talked a bit more about this Jupiter in Cancer energy. But Jupiter entered Cancer not too long ago. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, so this, this coming year, as, as Jupiter moves through the sin of Cancer, we're going to see the best of Jupiter and we really need it right now. So, Jupiter is happiest and is at its most complete expression when it's in the sign of Cancer. And so, during this New Moon, right at the beginning of Jupiter's transit through Cancer, we have the New Moon, and Jupiter is conjunct the New Moon. So the Sun, the Moon, and Jupiter are all together. And Jupiter is this expansive energy. And so. We're kind of circling back to that, expanding your nurturing, your caring a little bit further out from your closest circle of friends. Maybe there is someone that you interact with on a regular basis, but it's not a close relationship. Like is there a way that you can show caring and compassion and nurturing to that person in a way that can, you know, give them a taste of that love that everyone needs? Not in a way that would be uncomfortable. We're still respecting people's boundaries, but we just want to envision this this glowing light of our love and our care that is currently and always around the people that we care most about, the people who we pour the most into. And then we just wanna push that bubble out a little bit bigger. With the support of Jupiter, we can hold a slightly bigger love bubble in the world and allow our nurturing energy to touch a few more people than what we're used to. Yeah. And so that's really nice. And honestly, the way that this New Moon is feeling is honestly very, very different from what I expected it to feel like. You know, the presence of Jupiter here can be a, you know, green light for making a bunch of money, making a lot of progress on our goals… all of these external world measuring sticks. And I've seen a lot of that also on social media around this New Moon. A lot of “making the most of this energy” and like it's a “wealth portal” and it totally could be a wealth portal, especially if in your natal chart, if this is occurring in one of your money houses, it could totally be a wealth portal. But I think even more deeply than that, it is a portal for the expansion that occurs when we slow down. I was in a meditation the other day and I was queued to notice how much my capacity expands when I sit in stillness and to just envision that spaciousness of stillness and how much you are really capable of holding when you slow down and care for yourself. And I think that's really the core of what this New Moon is about it. And again, there is also the option of grinding and hustling because whenever we work with Jupiter, a little goes a long way. You know, we could, you could absolutely choose to go really fast and you could make really great progress and have awesome success. That is absolutely an option. But I think that the highest invitation here, like the one that serves our highest good and the highest good of all, would be to care for ourselves and care for our people in the slowest, most deliberate, most present, and expansive way that we can during this New Moon and allow that to set the tone. That's the new beginning. That's the new baseline for how we care for ourselves and how we care for others. And from that place of being so deeply nourished and resourced and connected to our communities - from that place, then, the expansion available with Jupiter throughout the rest of the year is going to be even greater. It is like, oh wow. Okay. Here's a really fun analogy that just popped into my mind. I was listening to a podcast recently about taking care of fruit trees and the expert who was talking was talking about how when the fruit tree is really young, you wanna pull the blossoms off because you want the tree to be putting its energy into its roots and its branches and growing really big and strong. And then once it's a big and strong tree, maybe in the second year or the third year, or even the fourth year I think depending on the variety of tree, then you stop pulling off the the blossoms and you allow it to fruit and it will be a healthier, more sustainable, more vibrant tree than if you had begun to harvest from it from the very beginning. And I think that's kind of what this New Moon feels like. It's like we just planted this tree, maybe we're planting the tree right now, and we see it's covered in all these blossoms and we see the potential for this really awesome harvest from such a small tree. Like it's so exciting! We can see this quick payoff is available, but really what we need to do is like encourage the tree to grow stronger and to root down and really adapt to its new environment before we begin to harvest from it and before it puts its energy into producing fruit. And so we are these little baby trees that really need like deep roots and really to be nourished so that in a year we are better resourced and able to produce an even bigger and better harvest. Oh wow. I just love a plant analogy. That was great. Okay. I think that there is a little bit of this scarcity mindset and like this time pressure mindset that we will be up against here with this, with this new New Moon. And I think we can see that a bit in the square that we're getting from Saturn and Neptune. There's a square, which these two planets are in the early degrees of Aries, and they're making a square to our Cancer planets, which is Jupiter, the Sun and Moon. And Saturn, as we know, is time. Time as well as discipline restriction, all of this stuff. And so this time urgency. This time pressure could be coming in and encouraging us to take action now. And then we also have Neptune here, which this Neptune in Aries, I really believe is this romanticized view. Romanticization, is that a word? Whatever. We are romanticizing ourselves, like how we view ourselves. We wanna be having this more positive self image. Like, we are capable of doing so much. Aries is really about how we view ourselves and what we feel capable of, our personal power. And when Neptune is here, this is really going to be a shift from Pisces to Aries with Neptune, Neptune in Pisces was romanticizing how we are all one. We are like this unified collective. There's like no boundaries between you and me, very like PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect). And in Aries it's very much like, it's not necessarily rejecting community, I don't think. I think it's more so celebrating the individuality and uniqueness. And, you know, being your own person and not being afraid to go do things on your own. But this romanticized view of ourselves combined with Saturn's desire for discipline and Saturn's concern with the limited amount of time we have, that's going to kind of, I think, pressurize this New Moon. It's going to pressure us into taking action. We're going to feel like we're missing out. We're missing an opportunity, like somebody else is going to beat us to the punch if we don't take action right now. And so there's going to be that tension in this New Moon. And again, I'm feeling like what is the most beneficial thing would be to be still and, allow those roots to really dig deeply down and, drink up lots of water, whatever it is, in order to be able to take even stronger, more aligned action in the future. But it really depends on your natal chart. Like if, if you have certain things going on in your chart, like maybe you're a very Aries person who knows? It could be more aligned for you to take action. So if you're feeling this tension really tightly and you want more guidance with that, um, we could do a personal Lunar Love Note just for you, and we'll see what's going on in your chart and if it, if it kind of tips the scales one way or another. But yeah, I think that that square there, that's going to be the main source of tension, is this kind of urgency and this desire to like prove myself because Neptune only entered Aries like what, a month ago? Maybe two months ago. And this, this romanticized view of ourselves is brand new. We are like, wow, this is who I wanna be. Maybe we have clarity around our identity and we have this like, fire within us to start taking action on it right away. And that's really exciting! Like especially if you're someone who has, maybe you were feeling in the Pisces transit, there can be a lot of confusion and fog and like, is that me or does that someone else? Because the boundaries between us all were very thin, paper thin at times, I think, and having now more clarity around who you are is very empowering and exciting and motivating. And so yeah, there can be a really strong desire to take action right now. And so balancing that with this invitation to allow that capacity to slowly expand before trying to like build it up, before trying to really do anything with it - I think it could be uncomfortable. Okay. And then the last aspect that I want to touch on here with the New Moon chart is there's a sextile to Mars, and Mars is in Virgo. And when Mars is in Virgo, we have a lot of energy to do things and I think this also may like, we have so much access to energy to get things done. And the first time that I looked at this chart, before I really tapped into the energy of it, I saw this chart and I was like, oh my gosh, this is like the best chart for like getting shit done. Totally because of this sextile. This aspect, we have Jupiter and Mars sextile each other and like it is just really juicy energy for making progress. But I think when we touch back in with that, slow down and expand energy. This Mars in  Virgo really could be put to its best use by drilling down into what makes me feel my best, what foods, what habits, what people, what places are really the most nurturing to me, because this Mars in Virgo absolutely can get into the nitty gritty details. It's very in tune with our bodies and our health. Virgo is like the most “refined diet” and “specific workout plan” sign. And I think that using that to support the safety, you know, our emotional safety is one thing, like that is super key. It's foundational for. Being able to take risks. But if we have emotional safety, but physically we aren't feeling great, then we're not going to be able to reach that fullest potential. And so utilizing these two energies together, you know, while we're slowing down, if we are feeling like, “I have so much energy, I need to do something with this energy!” society will tell us to be productive and to go earn money, get into the labor force, or whatever it is, with that energy. But what if instead we turned that energy on nurturing ourselves and nurturing our people and figuring out the systems and the routines that we need to be fully resourced? Maybe it's meal prepping, you know, maybe it is, like coordinating a weekly walk and talk with like your closest friends, something like that. Who knows? But there's something there that we can really refine and get into the most supportive version of it with that support. And then again, if you decide that you cannot miss this opportunity of this low resistance time with Jupiter's support here, and you're going to be hustling, then you can absolutely be tapping into that Mars in  Virgo energy and the things will get checked off the to-do list so rapidly. And that might be the most perfect and aligned thing for you. I just think that for most of us, the most aligned thing is not that, but yeah. Okay. Yeah, let me just double check my notes. I think that was everything. I really had a lot come through that was not written down, which always throws my notes off a little bit. But yeah, you know, it's this beautiful opportunity for us to really sit and fully, clearly define what is my, home base, what are my home base requirements? What do I mean to feel my most safe, nourished, nurtured, connected, grounded? And then how can I prioritize that daily going forward? What changes need to be made? What can I implement? What needs to be taken away so that I am feeling as close to the best version of myself as I can on a daily basis? Because then, from that baseline, we are so much closer to reaching goals. We have a higher capacity for doing stuff. It's like, I don't know. I am getting a visual that is hard to explain. It's like just a head start. I think like if we, I think it's kind of coming back to that tree thing. If we try to launch this into this goal launch onto this dream from where we are right now, we could do really well. But if we wait and build this really strong foundation, then we'll be starting off just like. So much further ahead and it will still have the support of Jupiter and it will take even less effort and time and we might end up like even further along, we could even exceed the maximum potential of where we would reach if we decided to jump right now. I hope that was clear. Thank you so much for hanging out with me. On this very first episode of the Lunar Love Notes.
