003: Capricorn Full Moon - Let the Old Structures Fall

Welcome to Lunar Love Notes, a space for intuitive timing, soul rhythm, and sacred remembering. I'm Sarah from Saturn's Harvest – Astrologer, Guide, and Fellow Traveler on this spiralic path of healing. It's not about becoming someone else, it's about remembering who you already are. So, take a breath, land here in this moment, and let's begin…

Hi, and welcome to another episode of Lunar Love Notes. Today we're going to be talking about the Full Moon in Capricorn that takes place on July 10th. The Full Moon is always an opportunity to acknowledge the completion of something. The culmination of something and the Full Moon in Capricorn could be a culmination of some structure of some like real world thing, something that like shapes our lives, um, that we no longer need.

Capricorn is a cardinal Earth sign. It represents leadership, um, permanent things that create the boundaries of our lives. It's associated with like government and authority. Also. The physical structures around us, like buildings that we live inside of are very Capricorn.

Um, and so with this full moon. We might be like allowing a structure to be dismantled or we, we are dismantling it. We're probably a lot more active in that, looking at the rest of the chart. We're more active in this ending. It's not something that's happening to us, it's something that we are initiating and participating in.

So what is a structure or a rule that you live by that does not actually need to be part of your life? A lot of the rules, structures, guidelines that are in our lives are inherited or imposed upon us by society or like the worldview that we were brought up in. And this is a good opportunity to check in with the rules that we're living by and seeing if we think these are good rules.

You know, we are grownups now, we can make up our own rules to some extent. You know, we're not gonna be like harming others, but we don't need to be harming ourselves by following rules that are restrictive or uncomfortable, and don't allow us to be the fullest version of ourselves.

This cap, this Capricorn full moon. It comes two weeks after the New Moon in cancer. And if you missed that podcast episode for the New Moon in Cancer, I really invited us to be as slow as possible. That New Moon was conjunct Jupiter and we were, expanding our care for ourselves. And I had this visual of us, finding stillness and feeling our capacity for doing stuff.

Our capacity for. Action and attention and yeah, I guess action and attention, our capacity for action and attention kind of pooling around us and expanding and like taking up more space the longer that we are in stillness, like summoning this, this life force energy, which then in the stillness we can store it up and then when it's time to take action, we are able to be more effective, more efficient perhaps and make better progress.

I don't really like that word, but we're able to move more rapidly and have a greater impact. Yeah, I think that's a better way of saying it when we give ourselves those cycles of rest, and so with this full moon, we have hopefully spent the last two weeks kind of expanding that tolerance for stillness in order to build up our capacity for impact and now maybe we are questioning or reconsidering or acknowledging the ending of.

What we are using our impact for? Is there like, are we building up this capacity to work really hard for a job that we don't like? Are we working really hard to bear the brunt of the emotional labor in a relationship that is unfulfilling? Are we asking ourselves to produce so much simply because we have been told that we have to, or is it something that we actually want to be doing?

Now this during this full moon, the moon is making a supportive aspect with Mars is. Trine Mars. So the moon is in Capricorn, Mars is in Virgo. And this support, this Earth energy support is going to help kind of strengthen our willpower, our motivation to take a real world action. So after this full moon.

When you, if and when you've have found some clarity around what is ending with the Full Moon, Mars is going to help us actually do something about it when we have these full moons in earth signs. Um. Earth Energy is very practical. It is real. It is. I don't wanna, I shouldn't say it's real 'cause they're all real, but as an earth sign, earth is the most real.

It's the physical reality. It is. Physically taking that like ugly piece of furniture out of your house and shedding it, and then when you look in your room, in the room that it used to be in, you can see a difference. It is actually putting in your two weeks notice at that job. It is. Like taking an action that you will be able to see with your eyes that will be visible to others because it's the physical reality.

When we have loo nations and events in the other elements, they are equally impactful on our lives, but they may not be visible, physically visible, but with the earth. Full moons specifically, if we are like fully stepping into the invitation, frequently there will be a change in our physical reality as a result of that, and Mars is gonna help us kind of integrate that and take that step because we have this motivation to do that.

A lot of times we might journal about it and think about how we would like to do something about it, but then we don't actually take the action. So the motivation, the support from Mars is really nice because once we receive that clarity around what change needs to happen Mars is gonna help us make it happen.

Okay. Also during the Full Moon we have support from the North and south nodes. Now if you've been with me astrologically for a while, you know that I really, I. Put a strong emphasis on the north and south nodes. They are. I think they can be the most important part of our charts to become familiar with, and they are equally as important in transit, and this is because they're kind of like our compass for decision making, for the direction that we should be moving in.

So currently the north node is in Pisces and the South node is in Virgo. This is an invitation for us to lean into trust, to lean into sensitivity, intuition, compassion. These are all high qualities of Pisces, and for us to become aware of any ways that we embody Virgo, like Virgos lower energies. So. Virgo has lots of beautiful qualities as well, and we're not trying to let go of those.

If we have a lot of Virgo energy, we wanna hold on to those high qualities, but still become aware of where we are too critical, where we are feeling the need to be in control. Where are we? Maybe getting lost in the details when there's a bigger picture that has more wisdom and significance for us. And so this is our ongoing collective invitation right now throughout all of the little invitations of these new and full moons of the different astrological transits that we move through, like we're gonna be going into Mercury retrograde soon.

These are like the. The many things that are going on, but the overarching invitation that underlies all of that is this north and south node invitation. And the reason for that is because the north node, these are the nodes of destiny, the nodes of fate. And by following that north node, we are becoming ever closer to reaching the best version of ourselves, reaching like our soul's highest evolution in this lifetime.

Now in addition to that collective invitation with the Pisces North node, we also each have the north and south nodes in our own natal charts, which is our lifetimes kind of compass. So we always wanna be checking in with, um. Our own personal north and south nodes to make sure we're staying oriented and moving in that direction of soul evolution and meeting our highest potential.

Now, the reason that I'm talking about the nodes is because the moon, the full moon, and the sun by extension during this. Full Moon are making positive aspects with the north and south nodes. This means that these decisions that we are making during the Full Moon are karmically significant. They have.

The potential to help us move a little bit closer to maybe have a shedding or a growth opportunity that's moving us along that path of soul evolution. It's essential for us to let go of some structure, some something. It's probably been in the back of our minds for a while, whether it is. You know, as I've mentioned a few times, wanting to leave a job that's not fulfilling, wanting to leave a city that's not fulfilling.

Maybe it's, you know, an ugly piece of furniture. It could be whatever. Like even if it doesn't seem like this could possibly be related to my soul's evolution, if there's something that you thought of when I said there's a structure to let go of. Something in your physical reality to let go of. If there was something that you immediately thought of when I said that, then most likely it is in some hidden way tied to soul evolution.

You know, maybe when you've created that physical space in your home, then the process of maybe getting a new couch or whatever it is. You come into contact with someone who changes your life and opens like your mind to new things, whatever. Like you never know what could happen. So don't rule it out. But if there's something that's been in the back of your mind that you know you need to let go of, this is the time.

This is, the support is absolutely incredible for this. And, you know, depending how strongly that Nudge has been coming on saying it's time to let go of this, you may not really have much of a choice because the nodes. They are the nodes of fate and they are associated with eclipses, and they can have a really strong power.

And so if you've been called to let go of a thing repeatedly and you've been pushing it off, it might remove itself or it might wait. You know, we are getting closer to eclipse season, so it might happen in Eclipse season.

Okay. I think that's enough of that. Now, the moon, when the full moon's in Capricorn, it's ruled by Saturn because Saturn rules Capricorn.

Um, Saturn is the planet of discipline, of boundaries. It's very structured. It really, and, and Saturn kind of gets a bad rap because it's not fun all the time. A lot of times it's actually really painful experiences. Really challenging times come with Saturn lessons. But this is really like Saturn wanting us to be the best version of ourselves and to do our best and to build something that can last.

And when we're building something like out of Popsicle sticks and marshmallows, Saturn is the energy that comes along and shakes the table. And the whole thing comes crashing down. And if we're standing in that house that was made of marshmallow sticks? Popsicle sticks and marshmallows, and then the house has fallen down around us, like that's a really bad experience.

Like, that person that, that Saturn that just shook the table is just so mean, but really like, why were you building a house set of. Popsicle sticks and marshmallows, so Saturn kind of can bring in this perspective of is this going to last? Is this sustainable? Is this are you able to hold this? Do you, yeah. Like are you capable of holding this structure? Is this structure capable of holding you?

And Saturn's making a lot of positive aspects during this full moon. So I don't think it's gonna be like a really challenging Saturn experience. It's not gonna be like Saturn knocking your house down.

So Saturn is conjunct Neptune, which it has been for a while. That's kind of a theme for the whole year. They're both in these early degrees of Aries. And then Saturn is making a sex tile to Pluto in Aquarius, which also is kind of a, a major theme for the whole year. It's not specific to this full Moon.

And then it's also making a sex tile to Uranus and Venus, which have both just entered Gemini like in the last week. And that's a little bit more fleeting. But altogether, this just kind of is showing the impact of this full Moon in the scope of our year because this full moon, which is ruled by Saturn, which is asking us to let go of a structure, is making aspects with all of these collective slow moving planets during the Full Moon.

Um. And it's just, it's just a key point for our la our larger story that we're moving through this year and even that we've been moving through for the last few years. And we will continue to move through for the next I. Decade maybe. But you know, it, it might not be super obvious like today or even next week or even next month, that this was a major turning point.

But things are unfolding and especially if you say yes to the invitation to let go of something and to take that scary step to remove a structure from your life, it will totally, in retrospect be a major turning point.

Okay, so Saturn is in Aries. Now Saturn in Aries is an interesting energy. Saturn is actually exalted in Libra, which is the opposite sign of Aries, which means that when Saturn's in Aries, it is not exalted.

It's, it's a challenging. Place for, for Saturn to be. It's not its favorite sign to be in, and this is because Saturn likes to plan and do things the slow and steady way. And Aries can be very impulsive and take action before the idea is fully formed. And so when Saturn's in Aries, it kind of tempers that impulsivity.

It kind of helps funnel the passion into something a little bit more sustainable, uh, which can be less fun. Definitely. Um, but it also has more of a potential for lasting change. For larger impact. Now in Aries, Saturn is helping us find structure, create these definitions and, um. Yeah, like boundaries around how we view ourselves, who we are, what's our identity.

Um, and then also we can have access to like self-discipline here. Taking initiative, taking action on things that we are interested in rather than maybe waiting for the exact right moment. And then, you know, this focus on growth, on personal growth on creating internal structures to help us grow into the person that we wanna be.

Saturn and Aries can also be kind of lonely. Aries is one of these signs that is, you know, it is a sign. That is ki that is focused on identity, but it's not focused on identity in a vacuum. It's focused on identity in relation to other people. And Saturn can be a little bit restrictive. It can you know, make us feel small or make us feel different from others.

So that's just something to be aware of during this transit. Let's see. Oh yes. But then as Saturn stations retrograde on Saturday, so this is just two days after the full moon. So during the full moon, Saturn's barely moving. It's stationing, which means it's, it's staying in the same degree. It's not really moving in either direction. And then on. I mean, it's moving at the snails pace and then on Saturday it will reverse course.

But when it stations retrograde, we're kind of unraveling those ideas of being different, being too weird. Whatever structures we have about how we view ourselves, about what we need to do, who we need to be. Those can kind of start to unravel as Saturn retrograde. That's where we are kind of thinking.

What? Yeah, like we're unraveling at the structures that we've built in this, in this Aries era area of life. So we have the Capricorn Full Moon, which is removing structures from the Capricorn area of life. But then just two days later, Saturn station retrograde removing structures from the Aries area of life.

And the Saturn retrograde will be about six months long. Like that's a much. Longer phase than this two week Capricorn full moon phase, from the Capricorn full Moon, until we have the Leo New Moon in two weeks. Then we'll be starting a new cycle. But the Saturn retrograde is a much slower, gentler, but longer process and, but that the fact that they are beginning at about the same time shows that we're really being asked to let go of old structures that are no longer serving us.

And while this podcast is generally. Personal focus, like we're looking at the structures in our own lives. It will also be really interesting to pay attention to collective stretch structures that start to collapse and be dismantled during this time.
