006: Aquarius Full Moon - Change Begins with Authenticity

Hi, welcome to another episode of Lunar Love Notes. Today we're gonna be talking about the Full Moon in Aquarius that takes place on August 9th. That is Saturday. Um. But first, let's just kind of check in with our week, with what's, what's the bigger picture of what's going on this week? Um, we are in the final days of Mercury retrograde.

Uh, this, this full moon actually takes place just two days before the retrograde. This podcast is coming out a few days before that. Um, but we're really coming to the end of that. Retrograde experience, which is nice. Um, and then this week, which we'll get into more in this, when we get more into the meat of this podcast episode, we have a very rare planetary alignment that kind of is dominating the week and it's active during the full moon chart.

Um, but it's not actually interacting with the full moon, which is very unique. Um. But it is a, an alignment that really is both supportive and pushing us. It's, it's giving us the pathways for progress and movement and also the friction that we need to actually like break that inertia that's keeping us stuck in some way or another.

So yeah, this week we also have a lot of, earlier in the week, we have had some Mars activity that is not super comfortable, at least from my experience, very like irritable energy. Um, I am recording this on the day that Mars enters Libra, which I'll kind of take some of the sting out of Mars. Mars is not at home in Libra.

Libra is the opposite side of Aries, which is one of Mars's homes, and so when Mars enters Libra, it kind of is playing a role that it's not as comfortable in. Now, this doesn't mean it is a bad placement or a weak placement of Mars. We're just seeing a side of Mars that we don't see as often where we are more aware of.

Others more interested in collaboration than we are in like prioritizing our own needs, which is what happens when we have Mars in Aries. Right? Okay. So Full Moon in Aquarius on August 9th. Now full moons are always this opportunity to. Look at like a culmination of something, a, a completion of something.

And the moon is in Aquarius because Aquarius is the sister sign, the opposite sign of Leo, and the sun is in Leo. So during a full moon, it's an opposition between the sun and the moon. They're in opposite sides of the sky and. We can kind of look at that relationship between these opposite signs. Each pair of opposite signs have this kind of shared theme, but they approach it in totally different ways and we can kind of work with that, um, dichotomy.

I don't know if dichotomy is the right word. It's more like a. How we can interact with that theme. And some of us are gonna naturally fall more on one side or the other. So this Aquarius Leo theme is kind of looking at our role as an individual in relation to. People collectively in our, in relation to the collective, and interestingly, both Leo and Aquarius have a tendency to separate from the collective to kind of.

Um, want to be seen as different or seen as special, but they do it in very different ways. Leo wants to be appreciated for like, embodying the current preferences of the collective. Um. Or, or it tends to, that's, that's not the highest expression, right? This is what, this is what these signs contend to do.

Um, and then Aquarius kind of rejects the collective for having preferences and is being so unique and weird that it's kind of like self exclusionary. Um, at times. Again, that's not the highest expression of Aquarius. This is just something that can come up with Aquarius energy. Um. Now one thing that is really interesting about this full moon chart is that the sun and moon are only in conversation with each other.

There is a lot going on in the chart, but none, none of it is touching the sun and the moon. The sun and Moon are really only looking at each other. And what this shows is that while we are collectively going through something bigger, we have this really rare alignment in the sky that we'll get into. Um.

While that is going on, and that is a lot of collective energy. Almost every other planet is involved in that. Um. It is, it, it, it feels like a separate story than what we are letting go of with the sun and moon with the full moon. Because the moon is very personal. The moon does not frequently describe collective energy.

Um, now we are all moving through the Aquarius Full Moon, so we might have similar. Experiences like we may have, like my personal inner experience with the full moon may be similar to the personal experience of someone else, but um, it's not like a collective. Experience. I don't know if that makes sense.

It makes sense in my mind. Um, so we we're going through this, shedding this, this personal shedding in some way at the same time that collectively we are being called into this big evolution and big change. Okay? So first we're gonna talk about. We're gonna really like, dive into these full moon themes and then we'll get into the, um, alignment that we are working with today.

Or really, it's like going on for days before and after the full moon, but it's pretty. Uh, special that it is kind of peaking at the same time as the full moon, um, lining up. Well, so the core message of this moon is again, we're letting go of something we are acknowledging. I. Something is done in our lives and we, we might have a tendency to think of this in a negative way or a positive way.

It could be, um, that we are letting go of a bad habit, a, a relationship that is toxic, you know, a job that is not working out, um, you know, a really ugly piece of furniture. You know, it could be anything like, like something that we. No longer want. And also it could be something that we have been pouring a lot into, something that we have been working on and we have finally reached the finish line and we are celebrating that we have produced this thing.

We have, you know, maybe. Uh, yeah, like completed a project or completed a move or, you know, reached that new level of something in a relationship. Okay. So it could be, it could feel very different depending, you know, personally, it's a very personal experience now in Aquarius. Um, we're letting go. Of, um, potentially ways that we are othering ourselves.

Aquarius represents this like collective energy. It's a very collective sign. Um. And it's this hope for the future this, this idea that like if we are all coming together, celebrating our uniqueness and working together, we can make a lot of progress. We can create a better future. It's a very innovative sign and it really has that, like I said, that very strong emphasis on.

Uniqueness, there is no homogeny in Aquarius. And a lot of times when we have someone that is, has a lot of Aquarius energy, they can feel that difference within themselves and they aren't seeing it. As reflected in the world and there can be an othering of ourselves or we can also be othered by others.

Um, but a lot of times it is more of a defense mechanism. And that can be against like the fear of not fitting in, of trying to fit in and not fitting in or not belonging. And it can also be resistance to vulnerability. Um, I've noticed something with these elder signs, and by elder signs, I mean the last four signs of the Zodiac.

So that's Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. These are the eldest of each of the four elements and. Of these signs has the gift of perspective, the ability to zoom out.

Like a, like more distance. Um, but each of these signs in their own way can kind of use that ability to zoom out, to create distance, to kind of like push away and resist vulnerability and connection. And Aquarius definitely that, that's kind of one of the things that Aquarius can get a bad rap for is that resistance to vulnerability and kind of being.

Um, and yeah, and really like a big theme of Aquarius is that we need to. Work to kind of embrace our uniqueness to like really show up fully. And this is, you know, this is very aligned with the LEO season and the LEO retrograde, um, mercury retrograde because. The highest quality of Leo is also showing up authentically.

Now it's only when Leo is very attached to being accepted by people that Leo starts to kind of contort into what people want to see. Um, but the truest expression of LEO really is showing up with what you are most passionate about, showing up as your authentic self. And that's where that through line between Aquarius and Leo can really.

Shine. Um, and so really like for this, this positive future, this aquarium future, we really need like everyone to be showing up as themselves. We, like, if we're all worried about fitting in and matching other people, then we're not make like focusing on that. Future progress. Right. Um, and one thing that is really like very timely, I think with this is that recently one of my, um, like magic and human design teachers, um, Megan has been sharing so much Furby content, um, and she, she sent out an email.

Like within the last few days about how she just started sharing these. She's always been someone I have looked up to as very authentic, like not afraid to seem strange or not that she seems strange to me, but she, she always shares her interests that don't seem at all related to her business. Um, like when I first connected with her, it was actually the fact that we were reading the same.

Like romantic books that drew me into her world. Um, and now she is sharing all of these like Furby memes and she's like buying Furies. She's gonna do like a Furby Halloween costume. She sent out this email recently that like, since she started sharing about these Furies, she has had such unexpected magnetism, like translating like directly to sales.

And it is truly that like proof that showing up. As your like Aquarian self, even if you're not an Aquarius. Megan's not an Aquarius. Um, but like allowing the parts of you that are different to be seen is very magnetic and people are drawn to that and that is how. We're going to be, you know, making progress in moving forward.

Um, a big part of astrology to me is connecting people with the, the like highest version of themself and like their, their authentic self because that's what the collective needs. What now, you know, we have so much shit going on in the world that is not good and we really need everyone to be in their power to be changing that.

You know, like seeing a Furby meme is the thing that makes you interested in working with Megan, which then is the thing that reconnects you with your authenticity, then that is like very powerful. You know what I'm saying? Hopefully that made sense. That was more of a tangent than I meant it to be. Um, but I will link Megan in the show notes here because if you're interested in human design or witchcraft, she's a really great resource for that.

Um. Okay, now that's kind of the themes of the full moon energy. But then now let's get into this rare planetary alignment. So this is called a castle. It is super, super rare. Um, it looks like if you saw my Instagram stories a few days ago as I was, um, taking the notes for this, it looks like a star, like when you draw a star without picking up your pencil, um.

A five pointed star, you know, like the doodle one. Um, and then you kind of connect the dots around the outside of that star. That's kind of what it looks like in the chart. Um, if you're looking at this in Substack, I will have a photo of the chart in there. Um, and I'll also have it on my website show notes.

So if you're listening to this on a podcast platform, you can find the, in the show notes, there'll be a link to the complete show notes on my website, and you'll be able to see it there as well. Um. But I'll try briefly to kind of describe how it looks. It's, it's like a rectangle, and then there's this supportive top planet.

So it's like you're drawing a house kind of, and that's why it's called a castle. It's like a very basic rectangle house with a triangle top, and then that. That top planet, that's like the peak of the house is making a supportive aspect to each of the four corners of the rectangle. And then those planets that are on the four corners of the rectangle, they are each in one opposition.

So like diagonal through the rectangle, they're in an opposition to the opposite corner. And then they're also making. Supportive aspects to the other two corners and that peak of the castle. So there's an overwhelming amount of collaboration and support between the planets, but these two oppositions that kind of make an X through the middle of the castle provide a lot of tension that is.

Just uncomfortable enough to kind of push us into action. A lot of times we have like this really supportive energy in the chart and if there's nothing uncomfortable, we might not take advantage of it. We may miss the opportunity. Um, and when there is some friction, then that's usually. Like friction in combination with support is really the sweet spot because, you know, if, if things are easy peasy, we're not listening to an astrology podcast to find out what's going on.

We're not like doing the inner work. We're just like floating and enjoying life. Right. A lot of the times. So I'm gonna kind of break down the energy of each of these oppositions and what those, that tension could feel like. And um, I'm also gonna talk about, actually first I'm gonna talk about this planet at the peak of the castle.

'cause it's really interesting. This is Uranus now. During the full moon in Aquarius, Uranus is ruling the full moon. So Uranus is really powerful during this full moon. Um, it's ruling the moon and then it's also the only planet in this castle, um, planetary alignment that is not. Challenged. It's only receiving and giving support, and Uranus is the planet of change.

So this is really a powerful change making energy. We are really, you know, like open to change at this time. Even if we're somebody that has a lot of fixed energy, we really like things to stay the same at this time. Change in some way, shape or form is gonna feel a little less scary. Um, it could feel.

Like actually the easiest thing would be to make a change. It's really, really beneficial, especially for those areas of life where we have known change needs to happen. But it's been too scary, it's felt overwhelming. It's felt like there's things in the way. Those barriers to change are a lot more flimsy, I think is the right word.

During this time. Um. And it really is just this anchor for the whole entire chart. Um, now Uranus entered g. Is that right? I think so. In July, or else late June. And Uranus and Gemini is associated historically with some of the biggest collective periods of change, um, especially in the United States. And you know, that's not always.

Like super fun, but it is usually associated with progress and like, you know, we, we come out of it better than we went into it. And I'm hoping, fingers crossed that that is kind of the theme of what we're moving into here. This is a seven year cycle that we just began. So in seven years things are gonna be very different at the collective world level.

Um, and this Full Moon is, is one of the first. Opportunities to really tap into that energy, I think. Okay. Now our first opposition in this castle configuration is between Saturn and Neptune, which are an Aries are opposing Mars in Libra. Now, this is interesting because while Mars is in Libra and is not at his strongest, he's in exile.

In Libra, Mars still rules Aries. So Saturn and Neptune still kind of answer to Mars. Um, in a, in other signs, these two big outer planets might kind of overpower Mars and we might feel like frustration associated with. Like not having power or, um, with having like roadblocks or something like that. But here where Mars is actually exerting influence over Saturn and Neptune, it actually is a lot more collaborative.

It um, kind of, I mean there is still tension because it is an opposition, but it's not nearly as. Uncomfortable and disempowering as it might be in different signs. So Saturn and Neptune and Aries, I feel like I've talked about these quite a bit in the last few podcast episodes, but this energy is really about, um, reclaiming our identities, showing up as our authentic selves.

That is like the theme of the summer, right? I've said that about 50 times. Um, because Aries is about identity, personal identity. Neptune is allowing us to romanticize our personal identity. Who are we really romanticize being a powerful person, a person who is able to take action. And then Saturn is there with the discipline, with the support to stick to our guns, you know, not collapse when we, um, are met with opposition, when someone challenges maybe a way that we're showing up in our authentic identity.

That type of thing. So it's really this, this beautiful support between Saturn and Neptune and then Mars in Libra. This is gonna be perhaps that that interpersonal tension, because in Libra, Mars wants. Things to flow easily. It's, there's a, the prioritization of collaboration. Um, and there could be tension between how other people are responding to us showing up as ourselves.

Now both, both sides of this opposition, so Saturn and Neptune. And Mars are both supported by Uranus, as we mentioned earlier, which is saying like change is good. So that's gonna kind of soften any tension that we are receiving from the people around us because they're also feeling that change is good.

Change can feel like progress. Um, they're also both supported by Mercury, which is still retrograde. So this is kind of, um. Maybe not super clear. We may not have full clarity, but we know like there, there's a certainty that the way we have been using our voice in the past is not 100% authentic and we have awareness that there is a change to be made here and you know, to.

Depending on you personally, you may have more or less certainty at this point in the retrograde. Um, I think I mentioned early on the retrograde's almost over at this point. Um, but it is still active. And then we also have support from Pluto, which is kind of this reminder that like, we're not just making these changes.

Because we feel like it. It's really like a powerful time Pluto's in Aquarius. This is an a very essential time for the progress of the collective for us to be showing up authentically and then. Um, yeah, let's get into the second opposition. So the second opposition is between that Pluto in Aquarius and Mercury, which is retrograde in Leo and Pluto.

Whenever Pluto has an opposition with a personal planet, we can feel very small because even though Pluto has been demoted by the astronomy world, it does represent bigness and power. Um, it's one of the largest. Energies in the, in the, in the sky. Um, and when it's in opposition to a personal planet, this, this makes us feel really small.

And when it's mercury, this is things like, does my voice matter? Like, does it really matter if I am showing up authentically, creatively? Like does it matter if my art is coming from when the world is literally on fire? That's kind of how this can feel.

That can be really uncomfortable. It can make you kind of like take the wind out of our sails in a way of like, we, we feel like we're doing all of this like really hard work. Um, this really hard personal work. We're having difficult conversations with the people in our lives. We are, you know, showing up in a new way.

It's kind of rocking the boat and like what is even the point when. There's literal, like genocide happening. That's kind of how this could feel right now. These are, these, both of these sides of this, uh, opposition are supported by those same planets that are in the castle alongside these two opposing energies, and that is Uranus, which is reminding us of change, of progress, of forward movement, you know, of, of the necessity of things to be different than they have been.

And then we have Saturn and Neptune. This is reminding us how like our personal identity will feel really good, like when we are truly ourselves. It'll feel really good. It's really the path of least resistance. Um. To be showing up as ourselves, because while there may be external resistance, the internal resistance will be so much lower.

And then we have support from Mars, which is in Libra, and this is that reminder that like. You know, um, balance and collaboration. It's not really balanced if someone is not at their fullest. Um, you know, that's, that's a big theme that we can see frequently with Libra Energy is like wanting things to be.

In harmony. In harmony, but then sacrificing ourselves, that throws off the balance. So like our creativity is essential. Our authentic voice is essential for this progress of the world to create a better future. Okay, and now that was almost every planet in the sky except for two. Essential planets that in my opinion, are up to no good in this chart.

And that is Venus and Jupiter. So, and Venus and Jupiter are conjunct in cancer. So when these two planets come together, it can feel really good. Um, but I think in the context of this chart where there is so much potential for like doing the uncomfortable work, Venus and Jupiter in cancer are providing this out.

This, this temptation to avoid. The, the authentic work, and I have been feeling this big time already. Um, the like temptation to just stay stagnant, to stay in the comfort zone. Cancer is totally the comfort zone and the invitation here is. You know, use that as the home base, that Venus and Jupiter energy, the, the things that are familiar to you, will be so nurturing and cozy and you, but don't stay there.

Go out and do the hard. Showing up, showing work. Do the, you know, the subconscious reprogramming to reconnect with who you really are. And then when that is activating, come back, tap into that home base, and then step back out into discomfort again. Um, we don't wanna really hide back here in, in. The cozy place for the whole week because this, this planetary alignment is really rare.

This is a really significant time for the collective and each one of us is really needed to show up. Um. It's, you know, we, we are at the very beginning of one of the biggest of, probably, for most of us, the biggest shift in the, the collective world in, in our daily lives in what's going on in our country and in the world.

We're at the very beginning of it, and we wanna be involved. We don't wanna look back and say like, oh yeah, I was on the couch for that whole time. Right. Okay. Now. We're gonna kind of pull it back to the, the beginning and our journal prompt for the full moon is a deep check-in. Um, where am I holding back my weirdness out of fear of being unrelatable.

That's a big story that we can see with Aquarius Energy is that I am not relatable, and I do think that one of the really great things that has come from social media has been the ability to find people who have the same weird thing as you. And so if there's something that you really want to do, something that you've been feeling drawn towards, but you feel like there's no one in your life that would relate to that, it is easier now than it ever has been to go like onto the internet and find someone.

Who shares that interest. Um, and so even if that's the only action that you take, that is still taking a step towards that pure, authentic expression that we're really being invited into. Okay. And that's what I have for our full Moon in Aquarius Energy. I know most of it was not really about the, the moon, it was mostly about that ongoing energy, but it really is related.

Like indirectly this, this big transformation is going on a little bit more beneath the surface. While we simultaneously have this invitation to let go of one small way that we are kind of othering ourselves, I. And yeah, that's what I have for us. I hope that you guys have a beautiful full moon and, um, my, my personal lunar love nodes are available for this full moon.

Um, go ahead and get those in by Friday because I don't generally do readings on Saturdays. I might, if you get it in on Saturday morning. Um, and those are like 10 to 15 minute. Personal podcasts. So I'll take everything that I just talked about. I'll put it on top of your natal chart and I'll, I'll let you know what houses, what areas of life these big shifts are likely happening in.

For everyone, it's likely gonna be either the feminine houses, so like money, emotions, um. Yeah, like daily life or it's gonna be the masculine houses, which will be interpersonal relationships, creativity, like going out and doing things in the world. And so it could be more of a like personal experience where it's not as visible to others, or it could be very much, um.

In your relationships and in how you are showing up in the world. So yeah. Thank you guys. Have a lovely day.
